What we collect
- When you register: your name, email address, the firm you work for and, if you give it, your job title.
- When you sign in: the date, the time and the internet address you signed in from.
- When you use the site: a count of which pages are viewed, held on our own server.
Why we hold it
We hold your account details to run the toolkit for you. The lawful basis is contract: you asked us for an account, and we cannot provide one without them. We keep sign-in records as a legitimate interest, to keep accounts secure and to notice a single account being shared around an office.
Answers about your firm
Answers about your firm, including its place on the sector wheel and its Digital Profile, are held against the firm. Other firms cannot see them. CEWales may publish figures that combine many firms, and never in a way that identifies one.
How long we keep it
An account that has not been used for 48 months is deleted, along with everything attached to it, including sign-in records. We send a warning first. You can ask for your account to be deleted sooner at any time.
Who else sees it
We do not sell or share personal information, and the site has no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics. The site is hosted for CEWales by 123Reg, which stores the data on our instructions.
Where it is kept
The site runs on servers in the United Kingdom or the European Union. The United Kingdom and the European Union each recognise the other’s data protection standards, so information can move between them without further safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information held about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Information held about a firm is given the same treatment as a courtesy. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
